UNDERSTANDING INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE

Bio-integrative means that we are integrating several forms of biological therapies that will modulate the self-healing capacities of each one of us. These therapies are all friendly to the human body.

We put up this center as part of our burning desire to help other people harness the healing powers of nature. This center is specializing in the field of integrative medicine. Nature has endowed us with a complete armament to combat diseases. Tapping these natural powers is all that we need in order to regain our health.

DEFINING INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE

Healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.

The defining principles of integrative medicine are:
1. Patient and practitioner are partners in the healing process.
2. All factors that influence health, wellness, and disease are taken into consideration, including mind, spirit, and community, as well as the body.
3. Appropriate use of both conventional and alternative methods facilitates the body's innate healing response.
4. Effective interventions that are natural and less invasive should be used whenever possible.
5. Integrative medicine neither rejects conventional medicine nor accepts the alternative therapies uncritically.
6. Good medicine is based in good science. It is inquiry-driven and open to new paradigms.
7. Alongside the concept of treatment, the broader concepts of health promotion and the prevention of illness are paramount.
8. Pratitioners of integrative medicine should exemplify its principles and commit themselves to self-exploration and self- development.

THE TAO OF HEALING

Why do we get sick?
The healing system is always there, always operative, always ready to work to restore balance when balance is lost; but at any given moment its capacity to restore may be inadequate for a required task. The capacity of the immune system to restore balance can be exceeded by the forces or circumstances of imbalance.

Does healing necessarily mean complete disappearance or disease on the physical level?
No. The literal meaning of "healing" is becoming "whole". It is possible to have an innver sense of wholeness, perfection, balance and peace even if the physical body is not perfect.

What is the relationship between treatment and healing?
Treatment can facilitate healing and remove abstacies to it, but treatment is not the same as healing. Treatment originates outside you: healing comes from within.
